Product Description
How about this for a truly exotic and rare bird?
This is a scale model of the amazing Canadair CL-84 Dynavert STOL/VTOL aircraft developed from 1964 to '72 and extensively tested by Canadian, US Navy/Marine and RAF pilots during that period, demonstrating excellent handling characteristics in a wide range of roles including troop deployment, radar surveillance, gunship and anti-submarine warfare in addition to carrier trials aboard the USS Guam and USS Guadalcanal.
With its tilting, high lift wing, the CL-84 was at the cutting edge of technology for its time and renowned for its straightforward flight handling.
Our model represents CL-84 402 that took part in the carrier trials and later flew onto the White House lawn in Washington DC. In a highly successful flight testing program the CL-84 completed over 700 flights and was flown by 36 pilots. Despite the success of the concept no orders were forthcoming and the CL-84 project was cancelled in 1974.
The flying characteristics of the original are reproduced in the model by the pre-installed flight controller. Transition from vertical to horizontal flight and back, motor control and stabilization are managed by the flight controller so that a single switch can be used for this function. True to scale, pitch control is assisted by a horizontally mounted propeller at the tail, which is also managed by the flight controller.
A fully assembled wing-tilt mechanism makes light work of assembly, so your own CL-84 Dynavert can be in the air quickly, needing only your choice of 6 channel RC system and a 4S 2600mAh LiPoly battery to get you there.
This is a nicely finished scale model of a unique aircraft that is sure to turn heads wherever it is flown.
